9.1          Great performance by Glen Tickle at Comix in NYC tonight. Always enjoy watching that guy. Speaking of New York, I'll be back in the city this weekend. A last-minute show has been added to my schedule, and I will be appearing at Broadway Comedy Club. I got on the show specifically for a friend who was going to be visiting the area. Unfortunately, I don't think that friend is now able to make it. So I need your assistance. Help me get some audience members, so the club doesn't hate me.

8.31        Follow @thepatjanssen on twitter.

8.31        Don't forget to go to Comix in NYC tomorrow and watch dear friend Glen Tickle. I'll be there. We can drink beer together and talk about the jokes I would tell if I were on the show. And you can watch both of us at a 6 p.m. show beforehand. But I didn't set it up, so I don't know where it is yet.

8.31        Can you feel it?

8.30        Losing my job has turned out to be one of things ever to happen to me. Sure, it has been rough. I respect the hell out of my wife for the 80-90 hour work weeks she has put in to make sure we stay fed. Her undying support has meant the world to me, and I don't know what I'd do without her. And though there have been some tough moments, getting the axe has been a significant blessing. Without it, I would not be calling myself a professional entertainer. Sure, I did stand-up while I held down my day job. But the motivation to dig deeper into your soul, throw yourself into the fire and make entertainment a career is daunting. When you're pulling down a regular paycheck, there is little reason to put that at risk. Now with no net, I have been plowing forward, taking aim at a dream that once seemed far-fetched. And it's all happening. Am I breaking the bank? Not quite. Progress in the entertainment business moves at a glacial pace, and only a select few climb the ranks quickly. And I feel sorry for those people. While grinding it out in comedy clubs and bars, I have gotten to know many talented individuals, make great friends, and gain a true appreciation for what we do. I am thankful for the chance to get my hands dirty and pull myself up, step by step. I hope each and every one of you gets the chance to eventually see the finished product.

8.27        A few new shows have been added, including a Sept. 11 show at Broadway Comedy Club. Several friends keep telling me to book a show while they are visiting, and I'm doing the best I can. If you will be in NYC or PA or NJ, let me know in advance and I will try to line up a show for the time you are here. Or if you're in a location that's not in the northeast (I'm looking at you, former college classmates), and really want me to perform where you're located, let me know. I want to make all of my doting fans happy. I like it here, but I'm always looking to travel.

8.26        Oh, Indian food, when will you cease to amaze me?

8.25        Comedians aren't supposed to be sappy, but I like it when my wife is home. She works a lot.

8.24        Three weeks until my birthday. Here is my birthday list for 2010: string cheese, cool scarves, comfortable socks, money, Arby's gift certificates, a belated honeymoon trip for my wife and me, lobster meat, SLC Punk on DVD, antique sports memorabilia, a unicorn, Hamburger (or Tuna) Helper, lots of auditions, a moped, breath mints, a green sweater vest, health insurance, tickets to see cool bands and/or comedians and/or movies and/or plays, more notebooks. Thanks in advance.

8.22        Had a good show, enjoyed the company of old friends, had lots of beer, actually got to see my wife on a weekend, left my backpack at the bar, retrieved my backpack, got to bed at 4 a.m. Had an excellent Saturday.

8.21        Another big show tonight at Broadway Comedy Club. Would really love to have the support of all of you. So come to the show and bring all of your friends.

8.19        Just wrapped up filming "Man's Best Friend" with director/comedian Glen Tickle and superdog Elvis Costello Tickle. Also got to hang out with fellow comedians Jason Brown and Jeremy Onorato during filming before heading over to Hackettstown, NJ to perform at Arts On Main. Both the film and the show went well. Here is "Man's Best Friend.
"

8.14        I can now cross Washington, NJ off my places to visit. Had a great time at "Jokes & Popcorn" with nine other comedians, all of whom did a great job. Biggest room I've ever played. Special thanks to fellow comedian Glen Tickle, who booked the show and was funny as always. Now I need to start waking up. Got home at 3 a.m. from the show, and now I need to hurry up and get out of the house so I don't miss tonight's 7 p.m. show at Broadway Comedy Club. If you're in the city tonight, come check me out.

8.14        Happy birthday, Mom!

8.2        What a great weekend. Got to see two of my best friends and two of the funniest people in Hollywood. Upright Citizens Brigade alumni Dylan Rohde and Ryan Tweedy were in NYC with their improv group Cuban B for the Del Close Improv Marathon. Got to see their show right after my set at Broadway Comedy Club. I have definitely missed hanging out with those guys. Got a slew of shows coming up, including one this Tuesday at the Allentown Brew Works in Allentown, Pa. Adam Yenser, a writer for Conan O'Brien, will be headlining the show before heading back west to rejoin the Conan team. I've done a few open mics with him lately. He is a very funny and very nice guy. Come check out the show tomorrow!

7.30       I can now say I've been to South Amboy, NJ. Had a good time performing at Anthony's. S;pecial thanks to host Jim Morrison (not that one) for making sure I got paid. No thanks to the cop who gave me a ticket on the way home. Fellow comedian and good friend Glen Tickle had a great set at the show. He made up for it by forgetting his keys in South Amboy and making me drive him back to P-Burg at 2 a.m.

7.22       Hey everyone. Things are looking good in the Pat Janssen camp. Tried a couple new venues this weekend and had fun at both of them. Went to the Whitman in Turnersville, NJ (a place even Garmin did not recognize) and Rock'n'Joe's in Bethlehem, PA. Met some cool comedians and made a few new friends. This weekend I can satisfy those of you in the Lehigh Valley AND New  York. On Saturday, I'll be at Broadway Comedy Club. Call 212.252.4255. Then on Sunday, I'll be at the Bethlehem Brew Works for a free show. Come on out and laugh at me.

7.17       Good news, everyone! The PatJanssen.com headquarters now have a computer and working internet. We were doing without both for a little while, meaning in order to update the site, I needed to walk to the library and hang out with the homeless folks. Apparently, that's the place they go to chill out during the hot summer days. That was news to me. So I wonder if the librarians thought I was homeless. If you saw the beard I was roking earlier this week, you would have thought I was homeless too.

7.2         Happy 4th of July a couple days early!

6.25       If you don't come to tonight's show at the Wardell in Phillipsburg, NJ, I will put duct tape in your hair. If you don't come to my show at New York Comedy Club on Wednesday, June 30, I will cry.

6.15       I apologize for the lack of updates lately. There have been some technical difficulties at PatJanssen.com. Has everyone been watching Last Comic Standing? I didn't try out, but I am thoroughly enjoying this season thus far. There is a good amount of talent on the show this year. I also like watching to show to see friends of mine. And here's a little secret--comedians are incredibly vain. In addition to watching the show for entertainment value, I am also checking in to make sure nobody's using material that doesn't belong to them. We comedians are a very territorial lot. In other news, I have had a lot of fun shows lately, and I have some big ones coming up. If you're in New York, get to Broadway Comedy Club this Saturday (June 19). If you're in eastern Pennsylvania or western New Jersey, come on out to the Wardell in Phillipsburg, NJ on Friday, July 25. Both shows are affordable, and both have great lineups. Looking forward to seeing all of you there!

5.28       Hey everyone, there has been a bevy of shows lately, and the bonanza will continue. In addition to the usual Lehigh Valley fare, I will be back in New York very soon. Shows on June 11 and June 18 (both Saturdays) have been added to the schedule. Also keep an eye out for a big show in Phillipsburg, NJ. In the meantime, check out a new video, some pictures and some links.

5.20       A new show has been added for this weekend. Come check me out at the Wardell in Phillipsburg, NJ on Saturday. This is a different show than the weekly one on Wednesday. I hate to say, but this one is kind of a big deal. Actually, I don't hate saying that at all. For just five bucks, you can see four very good comedians. The show starts at 8 p.m. Get there early and stay late. The Wardell has cheap beer and great food.

5.18       So the new videos aren't up yet. For that, I am sorry. But I do have some new pictures, thanks to DJ Decker. If you like what you see, you should come see the real deal on Wednesday, May 26. I'll be at New York Comedy Club, along with some very good comedians. Call 917-446-9670 for reservations.

5.11       Check me out on Saturday at Broadway Comedy Club. You'll be able to say you watched me before I blew up. Not literally. But near Times Square, who knows? If you're still interested, call 212-252-4261 for reservations.

5.10       That was a fun night. I forgot how much I missed performing at Stooges in Allentown. It went really well, too. I didn't break any mic stands, which I could not say on Wednesday.

4.27       Another post? No way! Yes way! Yes, I go weeks without updating, then I can't go minutes without adding another update. I need to remind all of you to get to Allentown BrewWorks on May 18. I will not be performing there on that date (not that I know of, anyway), but a good friend will be. Mike Gaul, a very funny man, will be making his Tickle-Me-Tuesday's debut. Check him out. It's only $5, and it's always a good show. And this coming Tuesday (May 4th), check out good friends Glen Tickle, Gary Snyder, Randy Tonge and more at Tickle-Me-Tuesdays in Allentown. There are a lot of great comedians in the Lehigh Valley.

4.27       P.S. New videos are going up soon. Be excited!

4.27       It's almost May? What happened, April? You were a virtual no-show! On to more pressing issues...I've asked before, but I'll ask again. How many of you out there would have interest in buying a Pat Janssen-themed t-shirt? Like, say, a "Modest Donkey" or "Walter Crunkite" shirt. I have some designs swirling in my head. Shoot me an e-mail at feeback@patjanssen.com to let me know what you think. Or pass along your own ideas. I'll even give you credit.

4.22       What a great week of shows. It's been a busy week in a variety of ways, so I appreciate every one of you who made it out to watch me. It's still a busy week, so this is probably all you're going to get for an update. Make sure to keep checking the show list. Updates are made every day.

4.18       Some new videos will be going up on the site soon. Hopefully they will go up quicker than my initial web updates. Thanks to all of my friends who have been making it out to my shows lately. I appreciate it!

4.8       Hey friends, here's a reminder that I'll be at Broadway Comedy Club in NYC each of the next two weeks. If you're going to the April 10 show, please call 212-252-4263 to reserve tickets for the show. I want you in that club. I NEED you in that club. If you can't make it to that show, make sure to get there on April 17 (no reservation line available yet). If you go that show, you could meet my mother and step-father. And whether or not you can get to either, make sure to come out to the Wardell in Phillipsburg, NJ tonight. A free comedy show in a converted rail car that used to be a strip club and was recently plowed into by a truck in a high-speed chase, what more could you ask for? Cheap beer, great food, a cool setting, nice people and a bunch of very funny comedians? Well, they have those too!

4.7       HAPPY PAT!

4.6       GRUMPY PAT!

4.1       I realize it is April Fool's Day, so let me state clearly that this is not a joke. For anyone who comes to a ticketed show and says that they are there to see me, there will be a free taco for them after the show. I want to have taco/fan get-togethers in New York.

3.31     Had a good time at New York Comedy Club. Made some good contacts and had a great time. Fun room. Fun crowd. On another note, would any of you lovely fans be interested in Pat Janssen merchandise? Shirts? Audio/Visual? Thongs? I'm thinking along the lines of a "Modest Donkey" t-shirt. Let me know if you would have genuine interest in buying stuff, and if so, let me know what would interest you. Drop me a line at feedback@patjanssen.com. You can also use that e-mail address to let me know when and where you would like to see me perform. Make it happen, people!

3.28     Significant changes have been made to PatJanssen.com, most notably the addition of content. Feel free to roam around the site and check it all out for yourself.
